Odaily Planet Daily News Lisk announced that the focus of 2024 is to launch the Lisk L2 Mainnet and develop its ecosystem.
Lisk plans to launch the Lisk L2 Testnet in Q1 (expected in February) and (expected in March) to provide Token holders with detailed information on future plans such as on-chain governance, staking, and Airdrop.
Lisk plans to launch a developer network in Q2 for LSKToken migration to provide users with LSKToken-related functions (DAO, staking), and Lisk L2 Mainnet in Q3/Q4.
In December 2023, Lisk announced its shift to the Ethereum ecosystem as its Layer 2 solution. The new Lisk network will adopt Optimism's Open Source framework, the OP Stack, and be built using Gelato's Rollup-as-a-Service platform, with a focus on DePINs.
The project plans to carry out the Testnet deployment of the Layer 2 network in the first quarter of 2024, offering a 90% cheaper fee than EthereumMainnet.
This transition also includes the migration of LSKToken to Ethereum to improve usability in the Ethereum ecosystem. The existing LSK reward mechanism will continue to exist, and LSKToken will also be used for on-chain governance of the upcoming Lisk DAO. In addition, Lisk plans to conduct an initial Airdrop of LSKToken on the new chain, details of which will be announced before the launch of the Mainnet. This move aims to accelerate Lisk's growth in the new ecosystem and provide developers with cheaper transaction fees.
