The AI startup Cluely, which previously sparked controversy over its "cheating" feature, has raised $15 million in funding, led by a16z.
Deep Tide TechFlow news, on June 21, AI startup Cluely announced on Friday that it has completed a $15 million financing led by a16z. The company's CEO and co-founder Chungin "Roy" Lee announced the news through the X platform.
Cluely launched earlier this year with the slogan "helping users cheat in all aspects", and its early version led to Lee being suspended from Columbia University.
This tool was originally intended to help software engineers cheat in interviews, but the relevant description has now been removed from the official website, which instead emphasizes its function as an "undetectable" AI tool that can view users' screens in real time and provide answers.
According to Lee, the company will fully invest the new funds into marketing, aiming to achieve 1 billion views across all platforms. Cluely also announced plans to hire 50 "growth interns" who must post at least 4 TikTok videos every day.
